SDA Match ("we," "us," or "our") is a dating and community app designed for Seventh-day Adventist singles. We are operated by an independent developer. Questions about this policy can be sent to support@sdamatch.app.
2. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly:
- Email address and phone number (used for account verification)
- First name and age
- City and state (general location — never your precise GPS coordinates)
- Profile photos you upload
- Profile answers (faith background, lifestyle preferences, relationship goals)
- Messages you send to other users
Information collected automatically:
- Device type and iOS version
- App usage data (screens visited, features used)
- The date and time you were last active in the app
- Crash logs and diagnostic data
3. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account
- To show your profile to potential matches and show you other profiles
- To calculate compatibility scores and generate AI-powered icebreaker tips
- To deliver push notifications for matches and messages
- To enforce our community guidelines and respond to reports
- To process your subscription through the App Store
- To improve the app and fix bugs
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only as follows:
- Other users: Your profile (name, age, city, photos, and answers) is visible to other members. Your email and phone number are never shown to other users.
- Google Firebase: We use Firebase for authentication, database storage, file storage, and push notifications. Firebase is governed by Google's privacy policy.
- Anthropic (Claude API): Profile answers are sent to Anthropic's Claude AI to generate compatibility insights and icebreaker suggestions. No personally identifying information (name, email, phone) is included in these requests.
- Apple: Subscription billing is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment details.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of our users.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your profile, photos, and messages within 30 days. Some data (such as reports you filed or received) may be retained for safety and legal purposes for up to 2 years.
6. Your Rights and Choices
- Access & correction: You can view and edit your profile at any time within the app.
- Delete account: You can delete your account from the Profile tab. This removes your profile from all matches and deletes your data.
- Push notifications: You can disable push notifications in your iOS Settings at any time.
- Data requests: To request a copy of your data or ask questions about it, email us at support@sdamatch.app.
7. Children's Privacy
SDA Match is strictly for users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that a user is under 18, we will immediately suspend and delete their account. If you believe a profile belongs to a minor, please report it using the in-app Report button.
8. Security
We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (TLS), Firebase security rules that restrict data access, and phone-number verification to prevent fake accounts. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. California Residents (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion of your data, and opt out of the sale of your data (we do not sell your data). To exercise these rights, contact us at support@sdamatch.app.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by displaying a notice in the app or by updating the effective date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
