Account information: When you sign up, we collect your email address and the profile information you provide (name, age, city, state, bio, photos, faith background).

Usage data: We collect information about how you use the App — swipes, matches, messages sent — to improve the service and compute compatibility scores.

Device information: We may collect basic device and browser information for security and debugging purposes.

• To create and maintain your account
• To show your profile to other members and surface compatible matches
• To deliver messages between matched users
• To compute AI-assisted compatibility scores (premium feature)
• To process subscription payments
• To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and policy violations — including automated checks on profile bios and photos at upload/edit time, reviewed by a human before any account action beyond flagging for review is taken
• To improve the App and fix bugs

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes. Period.

We share your information only in these limited cases:

• Other members: Your profile (name, photos, bio, faith details) is visible to other members as intended by the App
• Service providers: Firebase (Google) for hosting and database; Stripe for payment processing; Resend for the notification emails you opt in to. These providers process data on our behalf under strict data agreements
• Legal requirements: If required by law or to protect the safety of our users

Photos you upload are stored in Firebase Storage and are accessible to other authenticated App users. We do not use your photos for advertising or share them outside the App.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your profile, matches, and conversations are permanently deleted from our systems within 30 days.

We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (HTTPS), Firebase Authentication, and Firestore security rules. No system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

An account may be suspended for violating our Acceptable Use Policy or Terms of Service — either after a member report is reviewed, or automatically once multiple unique members have reported the same account (a safeguard against repeat harassment, reviewed after the fact by an administrator). If you believe your account was suspended in error, here's how to have it reviewed:

1. Open the App. A suspended account is shown an "Account suspended" screen instead of the normal app.
2. On that screen, submit a short explanation of why you believe the suspension was a mistake.
3. A human administrator — not an automated system — reviews your appeal and profile.
4. You'll see the outcome the next time you open the App: if approved, your account is reinstated immediately and any automated flags are cleared; if denied, the suspension stays in place.
5. You can reach support@sdamatch.app at any point with questions about the outcome.

Each suspension can be appealed once. If new information comes to light after a denial, contact support directly.

SDA Match is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us immediately.

You can access, update, or delete your profile information at any time from the Profile tab. You may delete your account entirely from Profile → Account → Delete Account. For other requests regarding your data, contact us below.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the App or by email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
